Dr. Taxman has extensive experience working with youth and families across multiple treatment settings, including therapeutic day and boarding schools, residential treatment centers, outpatient psychiatric clinics, and inpatient psychiatric hospitals. She has comprehensive training and experience using numerous evidence-based therapies, such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
Dr. Taxman’s clinical expertise and interests include the assessment and treatment of emotional regulation difficulties, eating disorders, trauma, suicidality, and self-injurious behaviors. She also provides assessment services for patients with various learning, attentional, behavioral, and emotional challenges. In addition, Dr. Taxman is an adjunct professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Biographical Information
Dr. Taxman received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She completed her American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited pre-doctoral residency at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital with a focus on children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Taxman completed her post-doctoral fellowship at The Family Institute at Northwestern University on the Mindfulness and Behavior Therapies Team.
